Laminated Veneer Lumber
Laminated Veneer Lumber is a high-strength engineered wood product produced by laminating thin wood veneers together under heat and pressure. LVL is stronger and straighter than solid timber, with no knots to reduce strength. LVL is also less prone to shrinking or warping and can support heavier loads than normal timber. It can be manufactured to nearly any length.
LVL is used primarily for structural applications such as beams, lintels, truss chords and purlins.
